Good news
Mycoplasma Genitalium can be treated by doctors with a single dose of medication – an antibiotic.
Bad news
Mycoplasma Genitalium is very hard to treat. Your doctor might try different medications before Mycoplasma Genitalium is treated successfully. If not treated, Chlamydia may cause impotence, infertility, chronic infection.
How does it look if you got it
Sometimes, Mycoplasma Genitalium does not cause any symptoms. It means you may feel nothing wrong for years.
- pain or burning while peeing.
- pain during sex.
- lower belly pain.
- abnormal vaginal discharge (there may be watery stuff coming out of vagina)
- bleeding between periods.
- watery stuff coming from the penis.
What to do
Run to your nearest GP or a Community Nurse or STD Community clinic. Google those words for a clinic near you. You need to be tested. It is easy to get tested. A doctor will need a small amount of your pee.
What NOT to do
Do not have sex with others. Do not share bed, underwear or other clothing with others. Do not share cups, plates and cutlery with others.
