Good news
Ureaplasma can be treated by doctors with the single dose of medication – antibiotic.
Bad news
If not treated, Ureaplasma may cause impotence, infertility, chronic infection, problems with newborn babies when the time comes.
How does it look if you got it?
Sometimes, Ureaplasma does not cause any symptoms. It means you may feel nothing wrong for years.
- burning feeling while peeing.
- abnormal vaginal discharge (may be watery and have a strong bad smell)
- pus or a watery discharge from the penis.
What to do
Run to your nearest GP or a Community Nurse or STD Community clinic. Google those words for a clinic near you. You need to be tested. It is easy to get tested. A doctor will need a small amount of your pee.
What NOT to do
Do not have sex with others. Do not share bed, underwear or other clothing with others. Do not share cups, plates and cutlery with others.
Things to watch out for
One can get some other infections via kissing and other activities. The chances are low though. The best thing is to speak to a doctor or a nurse.
