Good news

Gonorrhoea can be treated by doctors with the medication – antibiotic.

Bad news

If not treated, Gonorrhea may cause impotence, infertility, chronic infection and even death.

How does it look if you got it

Sometimes, Gonorrhea does not cause any symptoms. It means you may feel nothing wrong for years.

  • discharge from the vagina (watery, creamy, or slightly green)
  • pain or burning sensation while urinating.
  • the need to urinate more frequently.
  • heavier periods or spotting.
  • sore throat.
  • pain upon engaging in sexual intercourse.
  • sharp pain in the lower abdomen.
  • fever.

What to do

Run to your nearest GP or a Community Nurse or STD Community clinic. Google those words for a clinic near you. You need to be tested. It is easy to get tested. A doctor will need a small amount of your pee.

What NOT to do

Do not have sex with others. Do not share bed, underwear or other clothing with others. Do not share cups, plates and cutlery with others.
